Some information about the artist

Isabelle Bryer is a french painter who lives in California along with her family. She spent most of her childhood in France and especially in Lyon. She studied Fashion design and art there which helped her sharpen her painting skills.

Her joyful and colorful universe is mainly composed of portraits, chlidren and fairy tales.

The Bride

This 30*48 masterpiece is called “The Bride”. It descibes the preparation of the weddings of a girl.

This  scene takes place in a fantasy world where humans and animals live in harmony with nature. It is easily recognizable thanks to the warm colors of the paintings, the shape of the characters and the way light is used.

In this word, laws differ from our world therefore it is not shocking to gaze upon the wedding of a little girl.

Symbolism

What is striking is the young girl. Her red hair ignites the heart of the viewer while her angel face moves us.

This child is treated like a queen. Her hair is being combed by birds, a golden crown is about to land on her head and the shape of the leaves and branches follow the curve of her body. Everything here was thoroughly placed to express something.

Love is also a key symbol. The right arm of the girl is a bit longer than the left one because it is holding a red heart.

As you can see, she is looking away from the viewer. One could think that it is disdain however one could also think that her mind is focused on the upcoming wedding.
